CONSTRUCT / MEASUREMENTS

Understand the scope.
Calculate the quantity.

Insulation estimates, roof replacement and aggregate balances start with reliable measurements. Construct helps measure prepared spatial data and retain the context behind each result.

Façade with gross area and openings excluded from net measurementExample result
Gross
500 m²
Openings
−80 m²
Net
420 m²

500 m² − 80 m² of openings = 420 m² net. Method illustration, not a measurement from the photo.

SEE HOW IT HELPS

Gross shows the whole. Net shows the selected scope.

A measurement schematic, not a measurement of a photograph. Change values and select façade exclusions.

Net area 420 m²

Material including allowance 453,6 m²

Net = gross − selected exclusions. Material = net × (1 + allowance / 100). Schematic proportions are illustrative. Reveals, flashing and installation rules need separate consideration.

Solutions

Choose the measurement that fits the task.

Surface area, projection and volume answer different questions.

01

Insulation: gross and net

Measure the façade, then subtract selected windows, doors and other exclusions. Treat reveals, flashing and material allowance according to the agreed method.

Your benefit

A clear basis for estimating and ordering.

02

Roofs: covering and preliminary PV space

Roof surface area and horizontal projection differ. Exclude skylights and other areas to prepare an initial assessment.

Your benefit

Better inputs for a roofer or PV designer, without claiming a complete panel layout.

03

Stockpiles and earthworks: volume against a base

Define a measurement boundary and reference surface. Compare results using consistent methods, scale and model quality.

Your benefit

Easier tracking of stock or terrain changes.

Aggregate stockpile with a model mesh and example result Volume: 670 m³
Volume:670 m³Example result

Illustrative value. Survey results depend on the model, boundary and reference surface.

What we can prepare

Discuss your measurement task

Areas

Spatial surface measurements and XZ projection, depending on the selected tool.

Semantic exclusions

Named regions contributing to the net result while the gross result remains unchanged.

Result assumptions

Model source, scale, date, method and measurement reference.

FAQ

Before we get started

Can any model be used for measurement?

No. Scale, coverage, acquisition method and quality need checking. Required accuracy is agreed before the work.

Does the measurement replace PV design?

No. Panel layouts need shading, structural capacity, clearances and other design considerations. Area is an input.

Does net area automatically detect all windows?

Net area uses selected semantic regions. Preparing and checking them is part of the process; universal automatic detection is not promised.
